Essential Oils Safety Advice

Please note that Essential Oils are highly concentrated and, as such, some precautions should be taken.

If you are pregnant, we strongly recommend seeking advice from a medical professional before using Essential Oils. Some oils are thought to be unsafe during pregnancy. General guidance is to avoid all Essential Oils during at least the first trimester, and to use half the quantity or less thereafter. Our Lavender Essential Oil should be avoided for the first four months of pregnancy.

Essential Oils should always be diluted in a base oil before applying to the skin. Please ensure you follow the recommended dilutions.

Do not use on children under the age of 3, unless you have consulted with a qualified aromatherapist. Children and the elderly are likely to be more sensitive to Essential Oils: dilutions should be at least half the recommended adult dose, and you are encouraged to seek professional advice if unsure. Do not use undiluted oils on children under the age of 3.

Never take Essential Oils internally unless under professional supervision.

Some citrus oils, including our Sweet Orange Oil, are considered to be mildly photosensitising. General guidance is to avoid their use for at least 12 hours before exposure to direct sunlight.

If you have a medical condition, you are advised to seek professional advice before using Essential Oils.

Essential Oils should be stored out of reach of children and pets.

Please be aware that Essential Oils can be flammable. Store in a cool, dark environment away from direct sunlight.

Please keep Essential Oils away from eyes.
